Day 2: Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, your Hamarayuni Tours guide will pick you up from your accommodation, and you’ll head to Tarangire National Park, your first taste of Tanzania’s wilderness. The drive takes approximately two and a half hours on well-maintained tarmac roads. Named after the Tarangire River, which flows through the park, this “river of warthogs” is the primary water source for wildlife during the dry season. Tarangire is renowned for its large herds of elephants, often seen meandering through the bush or gathering at the river to drink and cool off. The park is also a paradise for bird enthusiasts, with species ranging from parrots and hornbills to lovebirds, lilac-breasted rollers, kori bustards, eagles, and vultures. Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park before continuing your game drive. In the evening, you’ll transfer to your luxury accommodation in Karatu.

Accommodation: Kitela Lodge
Meals & Drinks: All meals included; all drinks (premium wines and liquors may be excluded)

Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater to Serengeti

After breakfast, you’ll drive into the cooler regions of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA), which spans over 8,000 km² (3,200 square miles). The NCA includes the Ngorongoro Crater, Ndutu, Olduvai Gorge, Empakaai and Olmoti Craters, and Oldoinyo Lengai Mountain. The Ngorongoro Crater, the area’s main attraction, was formed around 3 million years ago when a massive volcano collapsed, creating a caldera. This unique ecosystem supports a wide variety of habitats and is home to some of Africa’s densest large mammal populations. It’s also one of the best places to spot the endangered black rhino. After exploring the crater for about four hours, you’ll continue your journey through the NCA to the Serengeti, entering at the park’s southern edge. Dinner and overnight will be in Central Serengeti.

Accommodation: Nyota Luxury Camp
Meals & Drinks: All meals included; all drinks (premium wines and liquors may be excluded)

Day 4: Serengeti to Karatu

The Serengeti is truly spectacular, famous for its vast open grasslands and incredible wildlife sightings. Its climate and vegetation have remained largely unchanged for millions of years, making it a haven for wildlife. The Serengeti is best known for the annual Great Migration, where millions of wildebeest, zebras, and antelopes move in search of fresh grazing. Depending on the time of year, you may witness this awe-inspiring event. In addition to the iconic landscapes, you’ll have a good chance of encountering predators like lions, cheetahs, and leopards. This is a life-changing experience!

In the afternoon, you’ll begin your journey back to Karatu, enjoying more wildlife sightings along the way.

Accommodation: Kitela Lodge
Meals & Drinks: All meals included; all drinks (premium wines and liquors may be excluded)

Day 5: Lake Manyara National Park to Arusha

After breakfast, you’ll drive to Lake Manyara National Park, a small but diverse park located 120 km west of Arusha. This will be the final park on your luxury safari. Lake Manyara is unique in its compact size and dramatic scenery, with the Great Rift Escarpment towering over its western boundary. The park’s namesake, a shallow salt lake, covers a large area and is home to thousands of wading birds, including flamingos and over 500 other bird species. You may also spot baboons and elephants in the park’s evergreen forest, as well as the famous tree-climbing lions.

Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park before concluding your game drive. Your guide will then drop you off at your chosen location, such as Arusha, Kilimanjaro Airport, or Arusha Airport. We hope you’ve had an unforgettable adventure with Hamarayuni Tours!
